Debi Lucas
“The key to financial success is to spend less money than you make.” Dr. Knerr, one of Debi’s college professors
Debi is a native Texan who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Dallas. With a long history of math instruction and tutoring in both college learning labs and with several professional tutoring organizations, she made her way to Shepton High School in Plano, Texas where she spent nine years teaching geometry, ESL geometry, and honors geometry and became head of the math department. Also, Debi has experience in higher education, spending six semesters as part of the Collin College math department teaching algebra, trigonometry, and pre-calculus.
A highly valued team member since 2009, Debi has juggled many roles at KD College Prep. You can often find Debi at a campus front counter (Command Central) assisting families or in a classroom or office helping students find answers to their math questions. Having risen to Vice President of Curriculum Coordination, she keeps our curriculum team on task and makes sure they have everything they need to create all the material used to teach our students. But what does that really look like at KD? Organize, plan, and prepare! And she is great at it.
