Preparation for the PSAT/NMSQT®, SAT®, and ACT® tests for a one-time fee
The Complete Test Prep Program prepares students in grades 9-12 for college admissions tests through a series of test prep activities: lessons (for learning test content and strategies to become a more efficient and effective test taker), weekly workshops (for vital practice and mastery of the material learned in the lessons), and full-length practice tests with an extensive review process (for incrementally improving test-taking skills while learning from mistakes). Students may attend activities either in person or live online.
KD offers more live classroom instruction and practice tests than other test prep companies. Each activity is led by experienced instructors, unlike AI-driven virtual platforms.
With KD’s Complete Test Prep, you do not pay by the year. For a single fee (payment plans available), we are with your family until your student gets the scores needed for college admissions or until high school graduation. Choose a grade level to get started.
KD has built its test prep and college counseling on 30+ years of helping students reach higher test scores and build stronger college applications. Our systematic, proven approach teaches students how to accomplish their goals.
This approach consists of various activity types.
Test Prep Approach
KD advisors are available six days every week to support your family. It’s the reason we’re here. Students or parents may stop by one of our physical campuses in the DFW area during business hours for questions or concerns, or they can call or email to arrange for a virtual meeting. Students will receive as much personalized attention as they ask for—and those students are the ones who are most successful in the program.
One-on-One Opportunities with Test Prep
Our teachers are available during in-person or live-online lessons or workshops to answer individual questions from students too. We encourage students to speak up during these activities to ask for help. Our teachers may also have a few minutes after each class to discuss the area that requires additional guidance.
In addition, personalized test reviews serve as another opportunity to discuss test questions with a teacher in a private setting. After students have checked and self-corrected their answers from a practice test, they will watch a detailed on-demand test review to get answers for the questions that they missed. After watching the test review, students can then ask for a one-on-one personalized review with an instructor to go over the questions they still don’t understand.
If a student still struggles after exploring these avenues within the program, we recommend scheduling a one-on-one tutoring session for additional help. Discounted pricing is available for current Complete students.
High school is a busy time for students. Add travel plans, a job and extracurriculars to the mix, and it can be hard to find the time for college prep. Luckily, KD has built a robust list of class schedules, with free live online make up classes, to help your student find something that works.
Options include classes/lessons that meet on different days of the week with morning, afternoon, or evening meeting times. The best schedule really depends on your student’s availability.

KD offers a very flexible makeup policy. As soon as a student misses a class, we email them a list of available makeup options. It’s as easy as letting us know which makeup option is best for them—no strings attached. If a student knows about an absence in advance, you can also call or email your KD campus to ask about makeup options for the missed class(es). All makeup classes are live online.
Unlike many tutoring companies, we require all KD teachers to have four-year degrees. In other words, we don’t hire inexperienced college students to lead our classroom activities. About 40 percent of our professional teachers have taught at KD for at least five years.
All KD instructors complete testing and training prior to teaching in our classrooms. This ensures that their methods and skillsets are effective in both in-person and virtual classroom environments. We also provide them with coaching and feedback on a regular basis through an ongoing evaluation and review process.
As previously mentioned above, lessons are not the only activity available to Complete Test Prep students. Consistent practice activities are where most of the real score improvements happen.
Complete Test Prep students should complete at least two workshops each month, maintaining regular workshop attendance, even after completing the lessons.
The Complete program also includes extra targeted practice found in the KD Student Portal for additional honing of skills and extra practice.
All of KD’s test prep programs include practice tests and reviews—one of the most important pieces of the program. The number of recommended tests per month varies depending on a student’s KD program, grade level, and testing plans.
The Complete Test Prep program includes six math lessons and six verbal lessons, covering content common to both the SAT® and ACT tests. Complete students also receive bonus activities as part of the program for the content that is unique to the ACT test.
Here are some general practice test recommendations by grade level:
Over-testing is not a good practice and rarely leads to meaningful score improvement, as students often repeat the same mistakes without addressing them. True progress comes from actively reviewing and correcting those mistakes, then applying that insight through a consistent practice routine that includes both tests and skill-building workshops.
After taking a practice test, students receive a detailed score report that identifies strengths and weaknesses. Students review each practice test with this score report, using self-correction for easier problems, guided video explanations for more difficult problems, and personalized help sessions with a teacher for the most challenging problems. The goal is to incrementally improve test-taking skills while learning from mistakes. Each practice test must be reviewed before taking additional tests.
Score improvements and their timing are specific to each student. Factors that affect performance include a student’s level of activity, commitment to the program, and whether he or she follows KD’s recommendations. After three to four practice tests, our team can discuss patterns in a student’s testing and offer specific recommendations on how to improve.
KD students typically see an increase of 100-400 points on the SAT test (which can translate to about 2-6 pts on the ACT test).
We believe our promise is the best in the business. We’ll prep your students until they reach their desired score goal or until graduation—for one fee. Families don’t pay a yearly fee for the Complete program. Here’s what we mean: join Complete Test Prep as a 9th grader, pay the 9th grade fee, and you’ll get all the program activities for 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. (It is our recommendation that a student aim to finish testing by the end of 11th grade, but we will continue to provide activities and personalized guidance for students who need to continue testing into 12th grade.)
