One of the best gifts an academically gifted student can receive is the chance to fulfill his or her full intellectual potential.
The material covered in high-level standardized tests is typically introduced in high school, but if a middle-school student demonstrates readiness, there’s no reason to wait. In fact, getting a head start on these concepts can positively impact a student’s studies and career in high school, college, and beyond.
KD College Prep’s Advanced Start Program was designed with these bright young students in mind. Held at our five KD College Prep campuses around the DFW metroplex, the program introduces 7th and 8th grade students to PSAT/NMSQT®, SAT®, and ACT® test concepts, laying a solid foundation for academic achievement.
In 14 structured two-hour lessons, Advanced Start students learn subject content and studying and test-taking strategies right alongside high school students. Like all KD College Prep classes, these classes are small to allow each student more individual instructor attention. All lesson content is reinforced with take-home work.
But instruction is only half of the equation.
Your student will put theory into practice and sharpen his or her skills with instructor-led verbal and math workshops. Taking up to five full-length practice tests will demystify the test-taking process and boost confidence. After each practice test, an instructor will review the test in detail in a small-group review.
No two students are alike, so the Advanced Start Program is designed to be customized to your student’s unique abilities and needs. Full-length diagnostic tests will identify your student’s strengths and weaknesses, giving you a better idea of where more work and practice may be needed and where natural gifts can be cultivated.
Students who score at or above the 95th percentile on an accepted grade-level standardized test, aptitude test, or mental ability test, or who have scored 125 or above on a standard IQ test, are especially ready for the Advanced Start program. If you have questions about enrollment or about your student’s readiness, contact KD College Prep to book a campus tour today. It’s never too early to be equipped for a lifetime of success.
