Applying to college doesn’t have to be overwhelming or stressful. If you are unfamiliar with the college application process or if your student hopes to get into a very competitive school, a private college counselor could be right for you. KD College Prep offers four college counseling programs designed to meet your unique needs.
Here’s a brief description of what is included in each of our programs and how to choose the one that’s right for your student. For more guidance, call our College Counseling team at (972) 906-8825 and make an appointment to come in and learn more.
PINNACLE™ Program
For students in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, this package includes one-on-one college counseling sessions held over Skype with our College Counseling team led by nationally renowned college counselor, Steve Peifer. Mr. Peifer will guide you through every step of the process: how to choose a college, apply to all your top schools, prepare for college interviews, write application essays, and get recommendation letters. He can also use assessments to evaluate your interests and skills to determine a good career path and the colleges best suited to your needs. You can also reach out to him between sessions if needed.
Great choice for: Students who want one-on-one comprehensive guidance through the entire process of completing college applications.
SELECT™ Program
Where the PINNACLE™ Program offers full-service guidance, SELECT™ is more targeted. Pay as you go for as much or as little help as you need, one hour-long session at a time. Our counseling team can help with specific parts of the process, like essay writing, college selection, applications, and interviews.
Great choice for: Students who only need help with a few parts of the admissions process.
APPLY NOW!™ Boot Camp
Sometimes the hardest part of the whole process is just doing it. With our APPLY NOW!™ Boot Camp, you can get a head start on your applications and essay-writing in a four day event. Offered in both summer and fall, this fast-paced group sprint gives your senior the push he or she needs to jump-start the next educational stage. Veteran counselors and directors will coach your student through the Common Application® and ApplyTexas® application, a personal resume, and two college admissions essays.
Great choice for: 12th-grade students who are already competent writers but need motivation and direction.
Our staff is happy to help you register for college counseling or determine which program would be a good fit for your student. Contact KD College Prep staff to schedule a time to meet with a member of our College Counseling team.
