Steve Peifer

Steve Peifer grew up in Illinois and graduated from Northern Illinois University. Through furthering his education, he has received certificates in college counseling, college student counseling, and personnel services from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Steve began his professional career as a Practice Manager at Oracle. He has also worked in Kenya both as a missionary and a director of college guidance. Before coming to KD College Prep, he was an associate director and director of college counseling at various schools and academies in the Florida area.
Steve has received many accolades in his 22 years in college counseling, including the Yale Counseling Award, NACAC’s Excellence in Education Award, NACCAP’s Guidance Professional of the Year award, and the CNN Hero of the Year for Championing Children award. A noted author and lecturer, Steve continues to be a highly sought-after expert in the college admissions world.
“As a father of four with two currently attending college, I understand and fully appreciate the challenges students and parents face in the highly competitive college admissions environment,” Steve says. “Having counseled students for more than twenty years, my goal is to give each student an opportunity to showcase their best, authentic self and open doors to great futures.”
